Privacy and Security

A connected world brings a lot of benefit but also many risks. Private and business users alike should consider securing their devices and software to avoid loss of data, identity theft and industrial espionage.

The tools and extension present in this section can be useful to anyone that would like to protect his/her PC or Laptop but are also widely used by journalists and activists that work in sensitive areas around the world.

This section has been created in occasion of the "Don't spy on us - Day of action" held at Shoreditch Town Hall the 7th of June 2014 to mark the first anniversary of the publication of the first article about Edward Snowden's revelations. Omnis Systems team participated to the event with the Crypto Party team to teach participants how to protect their privacy.

Keep in mind that to achieve the desired level of privacy and data security is not enough to use tools. Both private users and businesses require guidance and training to understand risks and remedies.
